Ah, those twilights,
Those dear, magic twilights,
With magic in the evening air
Each breath I take is fresh and new,
And full of wonder and enchantment,
Like a pixie's fairy dust.
I love that awe-filled,
Fleeting, wondrous moment
Before the cherry-like sun
Slips under the vast horizon.
I love that moment because
In my mind, I am
Like the last person on earth,
The only person on the amazing earth.
And I capture that moment,
And place it in my heart.
I love those twilights
Where I stop and stare like a statue.
Where I ignore the traffic speeding by,
Where I ignore the people and their dogs
And think to myself,
With a little happy knot in my throat:
How much I owe to my loving God
For giving me the sight
Of this dear, dear, magic twilight.
